About Joachim
Name: Joachim Valentine
Age: At least 400 years old

We first meet Joachim in the original Shadow Hearts, when one of the main characters of that game, Keith, must fight a creature called the Golden Bat in order to earn his best weapon, a demon sword called Tyrving. The Golden Bat is actually Keith's older brother Joachim (Keith himself is also known as the Silver Bat), and also the guardian of Tyrving, a familiy treasure. But in Shadow Hearts: Covenant, Joachim gets his turn in the spotlight as a main character.
Years later, at the time of Covenant, Joachim ends up washed up on the shore of Le Havre, France, after an, er, incident involving Tyrving. It's there that Yuri, Karin, Geppetto and Blanca meet him, in the guise of Grand Papillon, a butterfly-masked wrestling superhero fighting the bandits of Le Havre.
After saving the family that took him in from the bandit thugs, Joachim joins up with Yuri and his friends in their adventures. Along the way he finds new weapons in, well, unlikely places, and climbs the pro wrestling ladder via challenges from his mentor, the Indian wrestler Great Gama.

About Shadow Hearts
The Shadow Hearts series' origins go back to Koudelka, a survival-horror game by Aruze, the makers of Shadow Hearts. The three games span from the late 19th to early 20th century, and encompass many historical locations in Europe and Asia. The main character of the Shadow Hearts series is Yuri, a young man whose soul is fused with those of monsters.
While the plots of the games are overall quite dark, Shadow Hearts and Shadow Hearts: Covenant are also quite funny, between some flat-out slapstick situations and a few absurdly funny characters, Joachim being a prime example. ^^
About this site
When I first saw Joachim (as Grand Papillon) in Covenant, I immediately knew I had discovered my favorite character, in a game full of endearing and unique personalities. Really, what's not to love about a Tick-like, vampiric, wrestling superhero-wannabe who wears a butterfly mask and uses random blunt objects he finds in the gutter as weapons? And even despite his utter randomness for its own sake, he still manages to be charming and downright likeable. So, I decided to create a fanlisting for him. And since there is very little Joachim-love on the net in general (I have yet to find a fansite for him), I decided to do what I could to make a good shrine for him as well.
This site is named Getitup!, after the item in Covenant to immediately transform into Grand Papillon (and later, Great Question). To me, it sounds both exuberant and very amusing, just like Joachim. (Plus, I had the chance to name a site "Get it up!" You can't blame me for taking it.)
