As with most clubs and cliques, there are a few simple rules necessary to make Uta! a fun experience for everyone (and, more to the point, not a chore for me). Please read the rules carefully before you join.

1) You do not need to have a website in order to join Uta! All I ask for is your name and a VALID email address.

2) If you do have a website, however, please put up the code either before or just after you join. I will happily link to online diaries or livejournals if you so choose, but the code must be in some permanent place (not just posted in a blog entry, you follow?).

3) There's no concrete number limit to how many character/song matchups you may have, but let's not get TOO carried away, okay?

4) You cannot have a character/song matchup that is taken by someone else. Check the members list before you join. If you want, for example, Washuu ** She Blinded Me with Science, and that exact match is already there, then no go. But that doesn't mean you can't use Washuu with another song, or "She Blinded Me with Science" with another character.

5) Fictional characters of all varieties are welcome. But no real people. Legolas? Yes. Orlando Bloom? No.

6) The song you choose doesn't necessarily have to be a vocal song, or an American song, or anything like that. Instrumentals, foreign music, it's all good. Music is music. Hell, you could use "Hot Cross Buns" if you'd like. BUT...

7) Please read this rule very carefully. It is very important. I have no problem with using music from anime or videogames or any kind of soundtracks. Like I just said, music is music. But the point of this clique is showing how a character and a song connected with you personally. I'm looking for imaginative matchups that show you understand the characters and the songs you choose. What I do not want to see is "Route Venus for Minako cuz it's her image song." That is pointless and extremely lame. It shows no imagination on your part. When I see an entry like that it becomes clear to me that you don't get the point of this clique. What that boils down to is this: use whatever song you like, EXCEPT songs from the same series/game/movie/whatever as the character(s) you choose. If that doesn't make sense, please email me BEFORE YOU SUBMIT.

8) When explaining to me why you match up whatever song with whatever character, please keep story spoilers to a minimum. I haven't read or seen everything you have, and I may be planning to read/watch it in the future. Consider this rule a personal favor to me. ^^

9) Finally, you can put up the code whenever you want, on whatever page you like. I don't care. But I will periodically shuffle through the members list, and if your provided link is broken, I can't find the code or you're breaking one of the rules, then I'll remove you from the members list.

10) I will make sure you've put up the code and have followed the rules (specifically #6) before I add you to the list. If you don't see your name on the list within a week, you probably did something to piss me off (like not following #6). If that's the case, re-read the rules and make sure you followed them BEFORE you email me to complain.
